Prague tour under totalitarianism
A walk through the history of the 20th century in Prague to discover the places that were the true witnesses of the events that occurred during the years of Nazi and communist occupation of the country.
In this round, we will talk about Czechoslovakia before the Second World War, about the Nazi invasion of Prague, the places where the crimes of the Nazis were consummated during the war and how they tried, in vain, to escape. We will talk about the Prague resistance, the heroes who struggle to liberate the city and how they did it. You will learn about the causes that led the country to fall under the communist regime, the Prague spring, the terrible consequences of the 1968 invasion, the suicide of Jan Palach and the events of the 1989 revolution. We talk about people: criminals, traitors and many heroes who risked to save innocent lives, fought against the invaders of the country or only risked to express their ideas and denounce the abuses suffered by the population.
